Involvement
As a member of the Santa Cruz community, it has been my goal to be as involved as I can in various organizations.
The groups below are organizations I am an active contributor to, and deserve the support of anyone in the community. When you are choosing where to donate the 30% of the commission to, please consider one of these excellent options. I was passionate or involved with these featured programs even before I became a real estate agent, and now I wish to share any good fortune I have with them.
First and foremost there is Westside Bouldering. In November of 2013, I had the idea to bring a low cost non-profit climbing gym to Santa Cruz. With hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars spent, and now with a crack team of incredible board members, the work is coming to fruition.
Every year tons of fruit trees in Santa Cruz go unharvested. The Fruit Tree Project's goal is to find those properties that have an abundance of fruit that goes wasted each year and turn it into delicious products like cider, dried persimmons, pickled olives, and a host of other delectable treats.
Recently opened in the Capitola Mall, the Museum of Discovery is promoting science and hands on learning in a day and age where that type of academia is largely neglected in public schooling. It is a smaller version of the exploratorium in SF, with daily classes in many disciplines.
When I was in university I was a college radio dj for 4 years. When I moved to Santa Cruz, I immediately started listening to KZSC, which has an impressive variety of music and almost no breaks from the music. I am now a supporter of their broadcasts through underwriting.
